Florida Women are Ranked Second and Men are Ranked Seventh in Latest Poll

Women move to No.2 and men jump to No. 7

GAINESVILLE, Fla.- The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) released its second Indoor Track & Field rankings of the 2023 season Monday afternoon.
The women’s team moves up three spots to second after an impressive outing at the Razorback Invitational where eight women found their way onto the podium. Jasmine Moore placed first in the long jump giving her two first place finishes in the two events she has competed in this year. Her mark of 6.64m/21’9.5″ in the long jump at the Razorback Invitational is the national leader in the event this year.
Talitha Diggs also had another outstanding performance, taking on three events this past weekend. In the 200m Diggs placed second, running a personal best and the third fastest time in the nation this year. In the 400m, she placed fourth with a time of 51.34, the fastest time in the nation so far this year. Diggs also took ran in the 4x400m relay, running the anchor leg and helping the team to a second-place finish. The relay team set the school record in the event, besting the previous record by 1.83 seconds and their time was the second fastest in the country this year.
At the Razorback Invitational both the women’s distance medley relay and 4x400m relay set school records.
The men’s team enters the top ten for the first time this year, jumping from twelfth to seventh in the latest poll.
At the Razorback Invitational, the Gator men had five performances that finished on the podium. Pjai Austin took first in the men’s 60m, running a time of 6.58. The performance was a new personal best, placed him in sole possession of the fifth fastest 60m time in school history, and is the seventh fastest time in the nation this year.
Sean Dixon-Bodie followed up his SEC Field-Athlete of the Week performance at the Clemson Invite by competing in both the long jump (fifth place) and the triple jump (third place) in Fayetteville. His long jump of 7.84m/ 25’8.75″ is the tenth best mark in the nation this year
Next up, the Gators travel to Fayetteville, Arkansas (Tyson Invitational) and Boston, Massachusetts (David Henry Valentine Invitational) on February 10 and 11 as they continue their indoor campaign.
