GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Collegiate regional championship gymnastics competition returns to the University of Florida. The Exactech Arena at the Stephen C. O’Connell Center plays host to the NCAA Gymnastics Regional Championships in 2024.
Today’s reveal was part of the NCAA championship bid process, which created the largest host site announcement ever, spanning 86 championships across a four-year cycle. The regional and national sites for 2023, 2024, 2025 and 2026 NCAA gymnastics competition were part of today’s announcement.
This will be the 14th NCAA Regional held in the O’Connell Center. Nine teams will vie for a top-two regional finish to advance to the 2024 NCAA Championships, set for the Dickies Arena in Fort Worth, Texas. UF won the last four NCAA Regional titles held in Gainesville (2005, 2008, 2013, 2017).
“It is great that NCAA Regional competition is back in Gainesville in 2024. Our gymnasts always look forward to competing in their home arena,” Florida Head Coach Jenny Rowland said. “It will also be the first time the new regional format will be contested in the Exactech Arena, giving gymnastics fans more opportunities to see some of the nation’s top gymnasts in action.”
