Florida Panthers to Host Military Appreciation Night on Saturday, Jan. 21 vs. Minnesota Wild

Panthers celebrate 10th Season of ‘Heroes Among Us’ program with in-game tribute recognizing a decade of past honorees and all others who have served

SUNRISE, Fla. –  The Florida Panthers will host Military Appreciation Night presented by CITY Furniture on Saturday, Jan. 21, 2023 when the Panthers host the Minnesota Wild at FLA Live Arena at 6 p.m. The Panthers are celebrating the 10th Season Anniversary of ‘Heroes Among Us’ presented by CITY Furniture, a beloved in-game program that has honored more than 350 veterans since its inception in 2013. 

The Panthers will host a private pregame reception for all previous ‘Heroes Among Us’ honorees and their family members, offering them a chance to connect with each other and members of Panthers and CITY Furniture leadership.  

This special Military Appreciation Night will also include an in-game tribute presented by CITY Furniture that, instead of focusing on one nightly hero, will celebrate all ‘Heroes Among Us’ honorees from the past decade and others who have served and sacrificed. 

“It is a tremendous privilege to welcome back so many of our ‘Heroes Among Us’ honorees from over the past decade to celebrate the program’s 10th Season,” said Panthers President & CEO Matt Caldwell.  “As an organization that values service, we could not be more honored to celebrate these military heroes once again, and to continue our tradition of sharing many more veterans’ personal stories of selfless service with our fans and community for years to come.” 

On this special Military Appreciation Night, the Panthers will also host a swearing-in ceremony on the 109 Stage during pregame activities in bowl, and welcome Commander of United States Southern Command, U.S. Army Four-Star General Laura J. Richardson to participate in a pregame ceremonial puck drop. General Richardson is only the second female to attain the rank of four-star general in the U.S. Army, as well as the third woman to lead a combatant command. and is the first woman to lead the U.S. Southern Command.

Fans will have the chance to write letters to troops outside FLA Live Arena at a table on the JetBlue Tarmac. Additionally, active and veteran military members who present their military ID will receive access to pregame happy hour in the Coors Light Cold Zone from 5-6 p.m, which will feature $6 beers and $10 singles.   

Both active and retired military members can sign up for complimentary tickets to this game and other Panthers games through VetTix.org.  

Panthers players will wear special military warmup jerseys that will be available for purchase at Inside the Boards at FLA Live Arena immediately following warmups. Other Panthers military merchandise will be available for purchase in Pantherland and on FLATeamShop.com.
