Florida Panthers Re-Sign Forward Ryan Lomberg to a Two-Year Contract Extension

SUNRISE, Fla. – Florida Panthers General Manager Bill Zito announced today that the club has re-signed forward Ryan Lomberg to a two-year contract extension, inking the forward through the 2023-24 season. 

“Ryan has brought physicality and contagious energy to our lineup,” said Zito. “We are excited to announce that he will continue to be a part of the Panthers organization for years to come.”  
 
Lomberg, 26, has recorded three points (1-2-3) over ten games played this season. He has skated in 44 regular season games with Florida from 2020-21 to 2021-22, producing seven points (3-4-7).  
 
The 5-foot-9, 187-pound native of Richmond Hill, Ontario led the Panthers with 67 penalty minutes in 2020-21, and scored his first career NHL playoff goal in overtime of Game 3 of the Stanley Cup Playoffs against the Tampa Bay Lightning. 
 
Lomberg has competed in 55 career regular season games with Florida (2020-21 to 2021-22) and Calgary (2017-18 to 2018-19), registering eight points (3-5-8). 
 
Prior to his NHL career, Lomberg skated in 219 AHL games, all with the Stockton Heat (2015-16 to 2019-20), producing 109 points (49-60-109) and 365 PIM. In 2014-15, he played in 43 regular season games with the Adirondack Thunder of the ECHL, posting 35 points (18-17-35) and notched six points (3-3-6) over 12 playoff games. The University of Maine alum also recorded 32 points (18-14-32) over 66 NCAA games (2012-13 to 2013-14).  
 
Undrafted, Lomberg originally signed a two-year contract with Florida as an unrestricted free agent on Oct. 9, 2020.
