Florida Panthers Re-Sign Forward Anthony Duclair to a Three-Year Contract

SUNRISE, Fla. – Florida Panthers General Manager Bill Zito announced today that the club has re-signed forward Anthony Duclair to a three-year contract.  

“Anthony brought great speed and skill to our club this season,” saidZito. “We look forward to seeing him continue to be a creative playmaker for us on the ice and a valuable member of our community. We are thrilled to have him as a part of the Panthers family for years to come.”  
 
In his first season with the Panthers, Duclair, 25, recorded 32 points (10-22-32) in 43 regular season games and also appeared in six playoff games. Leading the team’s forwards with a career-high +27 rating, he also finished fifth on the team in assists (22) and even-strength points (29). 

A 2020 NHL All-Star, Duclair has appeared in 396 career NHL regular season games for Florida (2020-21), Ottawa (2018-19 to 2019-20), Columbus (2018-19), Chicago (2017-18), Arizona (2015-16 to 2017-18) and New York Rangers (2014-15), amassing 194 points (89-105-194). 

Prior to his professional career, the Pointe-Claire, QC native played for the Quebec Remparts of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL), tallying 249 points (116-133-249) in 203 regular season games and 42 points (14-28-42) in 44 playoff games. He was named a QMJHL First Team All-Star in 2013-14 and was a member of the QMJHL All-Rookie Team in 2011-12. 

On the international stage, Duclair won a gold medal with Canada at the 2015 IIHF World Junior Championship, posting eight points (4-4-8) in seven games. He also won a gold medal with Canada at the 2012 Ivan Hlinka Memorial Tournament. 

Duclair was originally selected by the New York Rangers in the third round (80th overall) of the 2013 NHL Draft.
