    The Panthers earned their league-leading 17th home win of the season in their 20th home game of the season Jan. 1 vs. Montreal. Only the 1929-30
    Boston Bruins (18-2-0) earned more wins through 20 home games to start a season in NHL history. On home ice in 2021-22, the Cats lead the league in
    points earned (34), goals (87), and shots (631). Jonathan Huberdeau leads all NHL skaters in assists (25) and points (31) on home ice this season,
    while Aaron Ekblad paces all league blueliners in goals (9) and points (20) at home. Over their past three games at FLA Live Arena, the Cats have
    averaged six goals per game and 39.0 shots on goal, outscoring their opponents 18-8. During that three-game span, 12 different Panthers have tallied at
    least one goal and 14 different Cats have recorded at least two points. The Cats have tallied at least five goals in 11 of their 20 home games this
    season. Sergei Bobrovsky’s 11 victories at home (11-1-0) are tied for the most home wins among NHL goaltenders this season.

    Florida earned their 11th comeback win of the season Jan. 1 vs. Montreal, tying Tampa Bay for the most such victories among all teams. Over the past
    two seasons, the Cats have earned a league-leading 31 comeback victories.
    POUR IT ON
    The Panthers have logged 99 total shots on goal over their past three contests. Florida paces all NHL teams with 950 total shots on goal this season. 14
    different Panthers have registered at least 50 shots on goal in 2021-22, including four defensemen. Aaron Ekblad ranks third among NHL defensemen
    with 97 shots on goal.

    CATS AND FLAMES
    The Panthers and Flames face off tonight for the first time since the 2019-20 season. Calgary earned a 3-0 victory against Florida in their previous visit
    to South Florida on March 1, 2020. The Flames also downed the Panthers 6-5 in a shootout Oct. 24, 2019 in Alberta. Aleksander Barkov notched four
    assists and Jonathan Huberdeau tallied a goal and an assist in the game.
    HUBY SNACKS
    Jonathan Huberdeau was named the NHL’s Third Star of the Week for the week ending Jan. 2, his second Star of the Week nomination this season.
    Huberdeau followed up a five-point (1-4-5) performance Dec. 30 vs. TBL with a three-assist outing Jan. 1 vs. Montreal, becoming the first Panther in club
    history to eight points over a two-game span twice in the same season (also 1-7-8, Nov. 30-Dec. 2). The native of Saint-Jerome, Quebec ranks second
    among league skaters in assists and fourth in points (11-30-41). With 41 points over 32 games this season, Huberdeau set a career high for fewest
    games required to reach the 40-point mark. Only Pavel Bure (29 GP in 1999-00) required fewer games to reach the mark in franchise history.
    Huberdeau leads all NHL skaters with 17 assists and 21 points over 11 games since Nov. 30. He paces Florida in assists, point, power-play points (2-9-
    11) and his +4 rating Dec. 30 vs. TBL was the highest by a Panther in a game this season.
    BARKOV COUNTY
    Panthers Captain Aleksander Barkov tallied his third power-play goal of the season Jan. 1 vs. Montreal, tied for the most PPGs on Florida this season.
    His 12 goals this season (12-9-21) are tied with Anthony Duclair for most on Florida. The native of Tampere, Finland has posted at least one point in 16
    of his 19 games this season. Barkov posted his fifth multi-point game of the season (1-1-2) Dec. 30 vs. TBL, including his first shorthanded tally in 2021-
  1. Barkov is Florida’s franchise leader in goals scored (193) and paces the team’s forwards in time on ice per game (20:18) and faceoff win percentage
    (54.1).
    EK’S GON’ GIVE IT TO YA
    Aaron Ekblad tallied his ninth goal of the season Dec. 30 vs. TBL. He has logged eight points (3-5-8) over his past 10 games. His +21 rating this
    season leads Florida and ranks tied for the league lead among NHL defensemen. Ekblad’s 25 points (9-16-25) rank eighth among league defensemen,
    and his 17 even-strength points (7-10-17) are tied for fourth-most. His nine goals scored are the third-most of any defenseman. The Windsor, Ontario
    native has posted six multi-point games this season. He leads Florida defensemen in goals and points, and ranks third among NHL defensemen with 96
    shots on goal.
    THE DUKE OF SOUTH FLORIDA
    Anthony Duclair has posted five points (3-2-5) over his past three games. He recorded his second multi-goal game (2-1-3) of the season Dec. 30 vs.
    TBL. His first tally marked his 100th NHL goal. He is tied for the team lead with 12 goals, and leads the club in even-strength goals (11), and goals on
    home ice (10). Duclair has produced 22 points (12-10-22) over 24 games this season. The native of Point-Claire, Quebec has recorded nine points (4-5-
    9) over his past nine games.
    RETURN OF THE MACK
    MacKenzie Weegar has produced at least one point in each of his past three games (1-3-4. He notched an assist and led Florida with four hits Jan. 1
    vs. Montreal, and he logged his second multi-assist game (0-2-2) of the season Dec. 30 vs. TBL. He scored his first goal of the season Dec. 29 vs. NYR,
    and he skated a career-high 31:32 time on ice Dec. 16 vs. LAK, the most by a Panther since the 2013-14 season. Weegar has notched 18 assists (1-18-
    19) this season, which leads Florida d-men and ranks tied for 10th among league blueliners. The native of Ottawa, Ontario ranks second on FLA with 87
    hits this season and he leads the team with 72 blocked shots.
    AGENT CARTER
    Carter Verhaeghe has posted two points (1-1-2) over his past three games. He scored his eighth goal of the season Dec. 29 vs. NYR. All eight of
    Verhaeghe’s goals this season have come at even strength, tied for second-most even-strength tallies on the club. He notched his team-leading fifth
    multi-assist game of the season Dec. 12 at COL (0-2-2). His performance was also his sixth multi-point game this season, tied for second-most on
    Florida.
    FINNISH PHENOM
    Anton Lundell has registered at least one point in each of his past three games (2-2-4). He produced his fifth multi-point game (1-1-2) Dec. 30 vs. TBL
    and led FLA forwards with 17:22 time on ice. All seven of his goals have come at even strength, tied for the second-most even-strength goals among
    league rookies. Lundell has produced 16 points (7-9-16) over his first 28 NHL games. The Espoo, Finland native leads NHL rookies in takeaways (32)
    and faceoff wins (177), and paces all NHL forwards in shorthanded time on ice per game (2:46 – min. 15 GP).
    WHAT ABOUT BOB?
    Sergei Bobrovsky earned his 14th win of the season Jan. 1 vs. Montreal. He owns a 11-1-0 record on home ice in 2021-22, tied for the most home
    victories among NHL goaltenders. Bobrovsky has earned wins in four of his past six starts, and owns a .918 save percentage and 2.47 goals against
    average over 21 appearances this season.
    USE THE FORS
    Gustav Forsling led Florida with four blocked shots Jan. 1 vs. Montreal. He has notched three assists (0-3-3) over his past four games. Forsling
    notched two assists Dec. 29 vs. NYR, his fourth multi-assist game of the 2021-22 campaign. Only Carter Verhaeghe (5) has recorded more multi-assist
    games on Florida this season. Forsling’s 15 assists are third-most among Panthers defensemen.
    FRANK THE TANK
    Frank Vatrano tallied his first game-winning goal of the season Jan. 1 vs. Montreal. He has produced four points (2-2-4) over his last four games
    played. The East Longmeadow, Mass. native is nine goals shy of reaching the 100-goal mark.
    ET TU, EETU?
    Eetu Luostarinen recorded his second multi-point game (1-1-2) of the season Dec. 30 vs. TBL. The Siilinjarvi, Finland native has produced a careerhigh eight goals and 12 points this season, and leads Florida with four game-winning goals.
    CZECH YOURSELF BEFORE YOU WRECK YOURSELF
    With four hits Jan. 1 vs. Montreal, Radko Gudas surpassed Roman Polak for the most hits by a Czech-Republic born player in NHL history. Gudas’
    2,028 hits are the fourth-most among NHLers since he entered the league in 2012-13. Gudas leads Florida and ranks second among all NHLers with
    130 hits this season, and he has registered the second-most blocked shots (46) on Florida.
    PROSPECT REPORT
    Forward Cole Schwindt was named the AHL Rookie of the Month for December after posting 10 points (2-8-10) over eight games for Florida’s AHL
