Florida Panthers Doubleheader Preseason Matchup to Benefit the Growth of Youth Hockey in South Florida

Tuesday, Sept. 14, 2021

SUNRISE, Fla. – The Florida Panthers announced today that donation-based admissions to the Sept. 26 Panthers doubleheader matchup against the Nashville Predators will benefit the growth of youth hockey in South Florida.

Fans wanting to attend the doubleheader matchup can donate $10 here for admission. Parking will be included with the donation. It will be first-come, first-served seating selection through Ticketmaster and will be valid for both games. Additional donations to the Florida Panthers Foundation can be made here and select opportunities at the arena.

“Participation in youth hockey in the South Florida region is at an all-time high,” said Senior Director of Community Relations and of the Florida Panthers Foundation John Colombo. “We’re so excited to offer this doubleheader game action to support that growth. Many families with young athletes have faced hardships in the past 18 months and we’re hoping that allocations of these funds through scholarships and more can help keep young hockey players on the ice.”

Six South Florida rinks currently offer two Panther marquee introductory hockey programs: ‘Learn To Play’ and ‘Adult Learn To Play.’ Expanding the game to middle and high schools, the Panthers Floorball hockey program is now in over 350 schools in the tri-county area. This program provides these schools with free floorball equipment to get students started in the game of hockey. For more information on hockey programs, please visit FloridaPanthers.com/HockeyPrograms.

Additionally, the Florida Panthers Alumni Association has awarded $7,500 to 10 youth hockey players from seven different associations for the Fall youth hockey travel season including: Florida Fury, Palm Beach Breakers, Palm Beach Hawks, Coral Springs Makos, Miami Toros, Florida Warriors & Florida Alliance.

The awardees come from travel and high school programs around the South Florida area and were granted based on academic achievement, financial need and merit and community involvement, rather than their skills or talent on the ice.
