Florida Panthers Announce Additions to Executive Leadership

Organization bolsters leadership roles within Ticket Sales, Ticket Operations, Retail and Partnerships

SUNRISE, Fla. – Florida Panthers President and CEO Matthew Caldwell announced today that Sam Doerr has been named Chief Strategy Officer and Bryce Hollweg has been named Executive Vice President.  
 

Additionally, the Panthers have hired Joshua Korlin as Vice President of Corporate Partnerships and promoted Adam Summerell to Senior Vice President, Sales, Services & Ticket Operations, Adam Lawson toVice President, Sales & Service, Chiara DeLuca to Vice President, Ticket Operations & Event Sales and Janine Kurpiel to Vice President of Merchandising and Retail Operations.  

“As we head towards the playoffs and continue to safely see the return of live events following the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, these new hires and promotions, together with our existing business staff, will be vital in bringing the best to BB&T Center,” said Caldwell.  “We’re thrilled to see growth and promotions for our internal ticket sales, ticket operations and retail departments and new leadership to bolster our partnerships business. Panthers Chief Strategy Officer Sam Doerr and Executive Vice President Bryce Hollweg are innovative and passionate leaders who will provide our organization with a wealth of knowledge and experience.” 
 
Doerr previously served as Vice President of Innovation and Revenue Strategy for the Arizona Coyotes, where he oversaw the club’s business analytics departments and digital strategy and served as a connection between all revenue-generating departments including merchandise and food & beverage. Doerr also worked closely with the Tucson Roadrunners, Arizona’s American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate.   
 
Before his time with the Coyotes, Doerr served as the Vice President of Business Operations for the Phoenix Rising Football Club and the Business and Soccer Operations Manager for San Antonio FC of the United Soccer League (USL). During his time with the Rising, the team consistently broke the club’s ticket sales records, including a sell-out streak of over 21 matches. Doerr was San Antonio FC’s first hire as a franchise.   
 
Hollweg previously served within the Vancouver based Aquilini Investment Group, first as the Director of Information Technology for the Vancouver Canucks, and later, as the Vice President & Managing Director for PH Restaurants LP, operating 55 Pizza Hut and 12 Dairy Queen franchise locations throughout British Columbia. 

 
A graduate of the United States Military Academy at West Point, Hollweg captained the Army West Point NCAA D1 Hockey Team before serving 10 years as a US Army Officer. Hollweg’s military career included assignments in Belgium, Germany, Afghanistan and South Korea, and culminated as a Professor of Military Science and Leadership at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Daytona Beach, Florida. 

Korlin comes from the Tampa Bay Lightning, having previously overseen partnership development for Vinik Sports Group. 

Additionally, the Panthers have also announced that following a successful 5-year tenure as Chief Operating Officer, Sean McCaffrey will depart the organization to pursue a role with Virtu Financial.  

“I would like to sincerely thank Sean McCaffrey for his tremendous leadership as Chief Operating Officer of the Florida Panthers,” said Caldwell. “Sean’s tireless dedication and contributions to the legacy of the Panthers in South Florida cannot be understated. Sean was an integral figure in establishing our War Memorial Auditorium revitalization project in Fort Lauderdale and navigating the organization through the COVID-19 pandemic. With his guidance, BB&T Center has safely and successfully welcomed the public back for hockey games and events as the first NHL arena to earn WELL Health-Safety Certification. On behalf of the entire organization, we thank Sean for his service to the country and the tremendous value he brought to the Panthers. We wish him and his family the very best as he transitions into the next stage of his career.”
