Florida Panthers Agree to Terms with Defenseman MacKenzie Weegar on a 1-Year, 1-Way Contract

SUNRISE, Fla. – Florida Panthers President of Hockey Operations &
General Manager Dale Tallon announced today that the club has
agreed to terms with defenseman MacKenzie Weegar on a one-year,
one-way contract. Weegar, 25, appeared in a career-high 64 games
with Florida, posting career-bests in goals (4), assists (11) and points (15). The 6-foot, 200-pound native of Ottawa, Ontario, ranked second on
the Panthers in blocked shots (103). He has appeared in 127 career
NHL regular season games, all with Florida (2016-17 to 2018-19),
producing 23 points (6-17-23). Weegar was originally selected by
Florida in the seventh round (206th overall) of the 2013 NHL Draft.
