SUNRISE, Fla. – The Florida Panthers and National Hockey League announced today that the Panthers have advanced to the second round of the 2023 Stanley Cup Playoffs after defeating the Boston Bruins in Game 7, 4-3 [OT]. The Panthers will face the Toronto Maple Leafs in the postseason for the first time in franchise history.
Single game tickets for Round 2, Games 3, 4 & 6* will go on sale on Monday, May 1 at 11 AM ET at Ticketmaster.com. There will be an eight-ticket limit per household for all single game ticket purchases.
Following tonight’s overtime win over the 2023 Presidents’ Trophy Winning Boston Bruins, the Panthers become the second team to overcome a 3-1 series deficit to defeat the Presidents’ Trophy winner in any round following the Canadiens in the 2010 Conference Quarterfinals against the Capitals. Additionally, Florida becomes the eighth team to defeat the Presidents’ Trophy winner in an opening round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs (since introduced in 1985-86) and third to do so via Game 7 victory.
The Panthers played in their third Game 7 in franchise history, following a win in the 1996 Conference Finals (3-1 W at PIT) and a loss in 2012 Conference Quarterfinals (3-2 L in 2OT vs. NJD). They now become the seventh franchise in NHL history to have each of their first two Game 7 wins come as the road team; only the Islanders (4), Wild (3), Sharks (3), Flames (2), Avalanche/Nordiques (2) and Stars/North Stars (2) have done so previously.
