Florida Atlantic Owls Move up to No. 19 in AP Poll

BOCA RATON, Fla. – The Florida Atlantic University men’s basketball team moved up two spots to No. 19 in the AP Top 25, as announced on Monday. The ranking is another program-first in a season of many, as it is the Owls’ first time in the Top 20. FAU also moved up to No. 20 in the USA Today Coaches poll.

“It feels great to know that all of our hard work is being noticed,” FAU senior guard Michael Forrest said. “At the same time, we’re also staying humble because we know that we have a lot more to accomplish.”

BY THE NUMBERS

The Owls are fresh off another 2-0 week and stand at 21-1 and 11-0 in Conference USA play. FAU is now the owner of the longest winning streak in the nation at 20 games and is one of only six teams in the nation that is undefeated in conference play. Additionally, FAU is one of only two one-loss teams in the nation along with Purdue, while also tying the Boilermakers for the best winning percentage in the nation (.955). The winning streak is also tied for the third-longest in Conference USA history.

The Owls will hit the road this week, with a game at UAB on Thursday, Feb. 2 and a game at Charlotte on Feb. 4.
