MIAMI (Feb. 5, 2020) – Head Coach Butch Davis and FIU football closed out the 2020 signing class on Wednesday, as the Panther coaching staff put the finishing touches on #Roar20.

The Panthers held a special “National Signing Day Celebration Show” at the Graham Center on Wednesday afternoon with a plethora of guests on hand. For fans who missed out on the show, click here to watch a replay.
A total of six prospects inked their names with the Panthers on Wednesday, joining an already impressive early signing period group.
The six players will fill needs for a Panther football club that is coming off its third-straight bowl season. The group is made up of five players from the Sunshine State and one from Mississippi, while being composed of a wide-range of positions.
Running back Eric Wilson Jr. was the featured offensive player from the spring class, with linebackers Chance Coleman and AJ Mathis joining defensive backs Joe Perkins and Jamal Potts on the other side of the ball. Jecoryan Davis-Hamilton will be featured as an athlete but has the ability to play either side of the ball.
The early signing period featured 11 players from the state of Florida, as the Panthers made it a priority to target their homestate. FIU received an additional four commitments from outside of the Sunshine State, with signees from Georgia, New Jersey, Mississippi and Texas. Another theme of the class was that of signees having played in multiple sports throughout their high school career, a trait that Coach Davis loves to see from potential recruits.
After going to a school-record third-straight bowl game last year, the Panthers will seek to continue that winning tradition in 2020 as Butch Davis and the Panthers open the season at home on Thursday, Sept. 3 against Jacksonville State.
