Featuring seven bowl teams from the 2019 season, the 2020 schedule will see the Panthers play five home games in total. Four of those games will be C-USA showdowns as Middle Tennessee, Marshall, Florida Atlantic and Louisiana Tech all pay a visit to Riccardo Silva Stadium in 2020. FIU’s four non-conference foes will be Jacksonville State, UCF, Liberty and UMass.

It is important to note that all games are subject to date changes and some dates are expected to move in the coming weeks in order to accommodate national television. A schedule of televised games will be released at a later date.

FIU kicks off the season with FCS powerhouse Jacksonville State on Saturday, Sept. 5, with the game serving as the first meeting between the two programs on the gridiron. JSU has averaged nearly 10 wins a season since 2013, while the Gamecocks reached the FCS National Championship game in 2015. The Panthers continue the non-conference stretch against UCF on Saturday, Sept. 12 as FIU travels to Orlando to face off against the Knights at Spectrum Stadium. UCF is coming off a Gasparilla Bowl victory over Marshall to cap the 2019 season.

The C-USA slate opens with a road trip to Old Dominion on Saturday, Sept. 19, as the Panthers face off against the Monarchs who enter their first year under newly hired head coach Ricky Rahne. FIU makes another trip to the state of Virginia on Saturday, Sept. 26 with a visit to Liberty to face the Hugh Freeze-led Flames. Liberty finished 2019 with an 8-5 record after downing Georgia Southern in the Cure Bowl.

After a bye week, the Panthers return to Riccardo Silva Stadium for the first time in over a month as FIU hosts Middle Tennessee on Saturday, Oct. 10. The homestand is short-lived however, as the Panthers make a two-week trek to Charlotte (Oct. 17) and UMass (Oct. 24) the next two Saturdays. Charlotte reached its first-ever bowl game last year, while the Minutemen enter their second season under head coach Walt Bell.

The Panthers host the Thundering Herd on Halloween as FIU welcomes Marshall on Saturday, Oct. 31 to continue the C-USA slate. After a trip out west to face UTEP on Saturday, Nov. 7, the Panthers will host Florida Atlantic on Saturday, Nov. 14 for the newest edition of the Shula Bowl. FIU takes its last road trip of the regular season on Saturday, Nov. 21 with a visit to WKU, before the Panthers close out the year hosting LA Tech on Saturday, Nov. 28.

The 16th edition of the C-USA Championship, pitting the champions of the East and West Divisions, is scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 5.
