MIAMI (March 22, 2021) – FIU football participated in its first spring practice since 2019, as the Panthers took to the field on Monday morning with a renewed energy and excitement.
FIU will practice three more times to round out the opening week of spring ball, with three more weeks ahead before practice concludes on April 16.
Having any spring practices in 2021 will prove to be a major benefit for the Panthers, after the team missed out on the entire spring season in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The Panthers will be looking to bounce back in 2021, as FIU seeks its fourth bowl game appearance in five seasons under head coach Butch Davis.
FIU will kickoff the 2021 season at Riccardo Silva Stadium on Thursday, Sept. 2, as the Panthers host Long Island. Season ticket information for the 2021 football season will be made available at a later date, visit FIUsports.com or call 305-FIU-GAME to stay updated.
