MELBOURNE, Fla. – For the fourth and final time this season, a member of the Nova Southeastern Sharks baseball team has earned weekly conference honors. In the final round of accolades, this Sunshine State Conference Player of the Week honor goes to Sharks’ left fielder Adan Fernandez, influenced by his proficiency hitting the long ball during NSU’s weekend series against Florida Southern.
A Miramar, Fla. second-year junior, Fernandez earns SSC Player of the Week honors following his efforts in the three-game set against Florida Southern. Fernandez went 5-for-10 at the plate with four home runs, six runs batted in, five runs scored and four walks. His top game of the series came in game two, where he hammered a career-first two home runs and drew a pair of walks. The outfielder had a hit, run scored, and two RBI in each game. For the week, Fernandez slashed .500/.615./1.700 against the Moccasins.
This is Fernandez’ first career honor and the fourth for NSU this season. The Sharks finished the shortened 25-game 2021 slate with a 13-12 record and 11-12 mark in SSC games.
