FB: LA Tech DT Milton Williams Selected By Philadelphia In 2021 NFL Draft Third Round

CLEVELAND – Louisiana Tech defensive tackle Milton Williams was selected by the Philadelphia Eagles in the third round (No. 73 overall) in the 2021 NFL Draft.

Williams is the 244th Conference USA player selected in the NFL Draft since 1996.

He became the 81st Bulldog selected in the NFL Draft in program history, and he is the highest LA Tech selection since Vernon Butler was the 30th overall pick in 2016.

Williams, a 6-3, 285-pound defensive lineman, earned 2020 First Team All-Conference USA honors by both C-USA and Phil Steele, and was named a third team All-American by Pro Football Focus.

As a junior in 2020, the native of Crowley, Texas was third in Conference USA in tackles for loss with 10 and seventh in sacks with 4.5 He was fifth on the Bulldogs in tackles with 44 (21 solo) and had two quarterback hurries and one fumble recovery. He had a season-high eight tackles and three tackles for loss against UAB on Oct. 31. Williams had at least three tackles in every game of the 2020 season.

He was a C-USA Honorable Mention selection as a sophomore in 2019 after he posted 59 tackles, including nine tackles for loss and two fumble recoveries.

Williams finished his Louisiana Tech career with 106 total tackles (49 solo), 19 tackles for loss and 10 sacks (nine solo).
