FIRST HALF The Florida Atlantic Owls’ defensive line controlled the line of scrimmage early on, recording three tackles for loss in the first two drives, five in the half. Combined with an effective pass defense that only allowed one third down conversion in their initial five tries, Temple was held in check to just three points. On the offensive side, a touchdown came in the second quarter when redshirt freshman QB Kasen Wiseman found redshirt sophomore tight end Wyatt Sullivan across the middle, who then took it all the way to the one for the 25-yard gain. Redshirt junior RB C.J. Campbell Jr. punched in the one-yard score to put the FAU Owls up 7-3. SECOND HALF Temple tacked on two field goals and a rushing touchdown to take a 15-7 lead. Florida Atlantic received the ball with just under two minutes remaining to drive down the field. Playing in relief for the injured Weisman, redshirt junior QB Tyriq Starks hit Campbell Jr. on a wheel route that saw him race past defenders into Temple territory. A defensive penalty brought the FAU Owls closer, and on fourth-and-three, Starks threw up a ball on a scramble that landed into the hands of redshirt sophomore WR Omari Hayes falling out of bounds.
