10/1/2024 | Football BOCA RATON, Fla. – The Florida Atlantic football team returned to the practice fields on Tuesday, only for the first time since late August, it was to work on bettering themselves and not in preparation for their next opponent. With five games under their belts, the bye week provides the perfect opportunity for Hagerty Family Head Football Coach Tom Herman and staff to hone in on the strengths and weaknesses of both the individuals, the units and the team. On Tuesday, FAU’s practice was shorter than a traditional in-season practice, normally the most difficult practice of the week. With the extended preparation time before taking on North Texas on Oct. 5, (4-1, 1-0 AAC), it also allows the bumps and bruises accumulated through the first half of the season to heal and for the players to rest their bodies before the conference season. FAU will head into American Athletic Conference play with a 2-3 overall record and an 0-1 record in AAC action.
