FAU’s Day Includes Practice, Welcoming and Bowl Game Fun

BOCA RATON, Fla. – The Florida Atlantic University football team (5-3, 4-2 Conference USA) is well into Montgomery Bowl Game practice, but also took time Wednesday to welcome the 2020 December signing day class and to partake in on-campus “Bowl Game Festivities.”

The Owls returned to the practice field Tuesday afternoon ready to begin preparation for the Wednesday, Dec. 23 game versus Memphis (7-3, 5-3 American Athletic Conference). Tuesday’s practice was a little warmup of the week’s plans as a portion was devoted to fun on the field, as the offensive linemen showcased their talents as skill players with redshirt junior BJ Etienne under center and redshirt junior center Nick Webber coming down with a touchdown reception and somewhat of a celebratory dance. The evening ended with a video game tournament that rolled into Wednesday’s semifinal and final.

On Wednesday morning and early afternoon, FAU also welcomed more than a dozen members to the squad with several expecting to join the Owls in January. See full story HERE.

FAU will return to the practice fields on Thursday with a “friendly” game of dodgeball on tap as well as the graduation of nine current and former Owls. The week and weekend will continue with practice and fun events prior to the team leaving for Montgomery on Monday.
