BOCA RATON, Fla. – On their senior night in the Burrow, the Florida Atlantic University women’s basketball seniors showed up in a major way. Ra’Kyra Gabriel and Jamaria Williams each scored in double figures in a loss against Old Dominion on Thursday night.

HOW IT WAS DECIDED

A layup from Abby Voss pushed the Owls ahead by seven. The Owls grew their lead to 10 with 2:31 left in the period, but the Monarchs came back to end the quarter down five

·       The Owls got hot from 3-point range in the second quarter, connecting on five 3-pointers in the frame. Myka Johnson Matthews and Addison Ryan each had two in the period. The Owls would take a three-point lead into the second half

·       Janae Thomas opened the scoring in the second half with a layup. The Owls hung on to their lead until ODU used a 12-0 run to take control

The Monarchs responded with a three, but Gabriel answered with her own on the next possession. ODU scored five straight points and held on to win
