FAU Vs UTEP Game Quotes from Coach Taggert

I was able to attend the press conference with FAU Coach Willie Taggert following  FAU’s 28 to 25 victory over UTEP. As soon as he arrived, he expressed disappointment with his team.

“We got a win. We were able to find a way to win. I was disappointed with the team. We were undisciplined and we gave up two touchdowns late in the game. We had a lack of discipline at the end. We have too many penalties,” said Taggert. “We didn’t control our emotions.”

He said the Owls would begin getting ready for the game against Marshall immediately. “We are going to start practicing tomorrow. We are going to look at what we did wrong and where we made mistakes. We are going to working on correcting those mistakes.”

Taggert did say the team played well during the first three quarters and they did. But he was very upset about the two quick touchdowns late in the game.

Some basic FAU statistics. The Owls had 12 first downs. They had 36 rushes for 131 yards.

Passing stats, 13-26-0 for 149 yards. The Owls ran 62 plays for 280 yards.
