STATS & NOTESThe Owls will hit the court for the first time in a full week after the 85-53 defeat over Florida Gulf Coast last Wednesday. Alijah Martin returned to the court for the first time in three games and showed no signs of rust. The sophomore guard led FAU with 21 points on 8-of-13 shooting from the floor and 4-of-8 from 3-point range. In six games this season, Martin is FAU’s leading scorer with an average of 14.0 points per game, while also ranking second on the team in rebounding with 5.3 boards per game.

The Owls shot a red-hot 46.7% (14-of-30) from long distance, upping their season shooting percentage from 3-point range to 40.4%, which ranks 12th in NCAA Division I. FAU also leads Conference USA and ranks 22nd in the nation in field goal percentage with an efficient 49.6% clip. The Owls have made more 3-pointers than their opponent in every game this season, along with shooting a higher percentage from long range in every game.

The Owls have remarkably won seven of their eight games this season by double digits (with the lone exception being the win over Florida). Five out of the eight Owl wins have come by 20 points or more, including each of the last three. FAU ranks 16th in the nation in scoring margin (+17.6 ppg.)

This is only the second meeting between these two schools in history. The first came on 11/16/98, when FAU won 88-80.

CONFERENCE PLAY NEXT FAU will begin Conference USA play this Saturday, when it welcomes its in-state rival, FIU to town. Tip-off on the 17th is at 2 p.m.
