SERIES HISTORY

FAU has controlled this head-to-head matchup, with an 11-2 record against the Roadrunners dating back to 2015.
BERTHIAUME’S BIG DAY

FAU’s junior left fielder Sara Berthiaume had a memorable performance against FIU last weekend. In game two, she recorded a grand slam in the 3rd inning. With the bases juiced and no outs, she launched one into right center for her team-high fourth round-tripper of the season and the Owls’ first grand slam since Feb. 20, 2021. Berthiaume was not done there, as she followed that up with her 100th career hit, a single up the middle in the 7th inning.

Berthiaume is in the midst of an outstanding season for FAU. She ranks fifth in Conference USA in batting average (.390) and hits (53). She leads FAU in nearly every offensive category.
CUNNINGHAM ON FIRE

FAU center fielder Kaitlyn Cunningham is riding a seven-game hitting streak. The sophomore is hitting .416 (10-for-24) with a home run, five RBI and five runs scored during that stretch. Cunningham’s solo home run in game three against FIU proved to be the difference in the 1-0 victory.
PITCHING IS KEY

The Owls’ pitching staff has been successful this season with a team ERA of 3.10 to rank fourth in the conference. Lynn Gardner has been the ace of the staff with a 2.33 ERA to rank fourth in Conference USA. Gardner threw her eighth shutout of the year last time out, and she ranks fifth in the nation in shutouts.
CHARLOTTE UP NEXT

FAU will round out the regular season with a trip to Charlotte from May 6-8. The Conference USA Tournament will be held at North Texas from May 11-14.
