FAU Downs UT Martin, 3-0

MARTIN, Tenn. – The Florida Atlantic University women’s soccer team ended its road trip with a 3-0 victory over UT Martin on Saturday night. The Owls’ win snaps their two-game losing skid.

Bri Austin provided a big night for the Owls with a goal and two assists for four points. Austin assisted on the Owls’ first goal, which came on a header from Sofia Voldby in the 56th minute. Austin crossed it from the left hand side, and Voldby punched in a header for her third goal of the campaign.

The Owls (3-3-2) dominated the match and had a huge 26-3 lead in shots. The pressure continued in the second half, and a pair of late goals blew the game open. Austin tallied her third score of the season in the 84th minute. Less than two minutes later, Austin set up Gi Krstec who extended the lead to 3-0 with her second goal of the season.

  • Blythe Braun posted her third consecutive shutout in net for the Owls. The freshman keeper picked up two saves and has yet to allow a goal this season
  • The three goals mark the third time this season the Owls have scored multiple goals in a game
  • FAU held an 8-0 lead in corner kicks in addition to the big lead in shots
