Fan Guide for the 2020-21 UAB Basketball Season

BIRMINGHAM – In advance of Wednesday’s tip off for the UAB men’s and women’s basketball season, the UAB Department of Athletics has prepared key information in which fans need to know leading into the 2020-21 basketball season.

Men’s Basketball Ticket Information

In compliance with CDC and state and local public health guidance, UAB adjusted the seating manifest to adhere to social distancing at Bartow Arena for the 2020-21 season. UAB reallocated season ticket holders who had completed their purchase of season tickets through October 19 and placed season ticket holders based on Blazer Boosters Priority Points and the price type of tickets purchased. As a reminder, original season ticket locations prior to the social distancing reallocation will be utilized for 2021-22 renewals or if capacity restrictions change during the 2020-21 season.

A limited number of 2020-21 season tickets remain in the upper level. Fans interested in season tickets can fill out the season ticket request form or contact the UAB Ticket Office at 205-975-8221.

Due to social distancing guidelines, men’s basketball single game tickets and walk up sales will not be available to the public for the 2020-21 season. Season tickets are the only way to secure a seat at Bartow Arena.

Conference USA recently adopted its COVID-19 game operations guidelines for the 2020-21 basketball season, and as a result, all patron courtside seating has been eliminated for the upcoming basketball season.

Women’s Basketball Ticket Information
Women’s basketball season tickets are also still available by purchasing the 2020-21 Gold Card for $65. The Gold Card is an exclusive offer that grants you admission into all women’s basketball, men’s and women’s soccer, volleyball, baseball and softball events for the academic year. Contact the UAB Ticket Office at (205) 975-UAB1 for more details.

Single game tickets are available here and are $5 for adults or $3 for kids 18 or younger.

Fans will be asked to practice social distancing and sit in available seats.

Mobile Ticketing Reminder

The UAB Department of Athletics announced a transition to mobile ticketing for events earlier this fall. Mobile ticketing has existed for single game tickets and has been a preferred method of delivery with most attendees.

Due to recent events, UAB Athletics has expanded the use of mobile ticketing and is providing as a default option for each ticketed athletic event.

Fans will use their smartphone to scan digital tickets to enter each event at Bartow Arena. More information regarding mobile ticketing can be found here. For ease of use, it is strongly advised for fans to download and store their tickets prior to arriving on game day.

Parking

Parking remains unaffected during the 2020-21 season and lots open 90 minutes prior to tipoff.

Men’s basketball season parking passes are available for $50 each. Season parking passes were mailed for each designated lot to men’s basketball season ticket holders last week.

For more information, contact Blazer Boosters at (205) 996-9969.

Gates Opening

General public gates open 60 minutes before tipoff for men’s and women’s basketball contests.

Premium area ticket holders for men’s basketball will be allowed to enter through the 14th Street entrance 90 minutes prior to tipoff.

Concessions Stands

Concession stands will be open and will feature regular concession menus. Social distancing measures have been implemented, and plexiglas partitions are in place to separate the server from the patron.

Men’s Basketball Premium Hospitality

The Green & Gold Room and Champion Club will both be open at 50% occupancy. If occupancy reaches 50% in traditional premium hospitality areas, Blazer Boosters members with access to Champion Club and Green & Gold Room hospitality will be able to experience similar club amenities in a premium hospitality overflow area located on the Bartow Arena concourse. Blazer Boosters will be sending members detailed logistics for both areas leading into Wednesday’s season opener.

UAB Students

Student tickets for UAB men’s and women’s basketball will be available starting at 9 a.m. on the Monday of each week and may be claimed at the UAB Athletics Ticket Office, located at Bartow Arena.

To claim a ticket, students must present their valid ONECard at the ticket window. Tickets will be issued in pairs and are available on a first come, first-served basis. Student tickets are limited and will be available until fully distributed or until halftime of each men’s and women’s basketball game.

The student seating is in sections 109-113 and 214-215. Students must sit in their assigned seat, which will be located on the ticket and through signage posted inside of Bartow Arena. Seat availability has been designed to accommodate for social distancing measures.

Student guest tickets will not be available for men’s basketball games.

Masks

Fans and event staff will be expected to follow the guidelines related to face coverings while at Bartow Arena. Masks are required per state and county ordinance and must be worn, unless actively eating or drinking.
