Fall Baseball is Here Upon Us

Rays fans tonight’s game couldn’t have been any better for us. Tonight we officially clinched a wild card spot for this years postseason against the Blue Jays while watching our former bench coach Davey Martinez and the Nationals beat the Indians 8-2 .

For us Rays fans this is our fifth postseason appearance in our franchise history so pop the champagne and party hard Rays fans because we facing the Oakland Athletics in a one game playoff to see who faces the Astros in the first round.

This team is magical in the run they have accomplished this season. No one picked them to go to the playoffs this year, or let alone have a better record than the defending World Series champs the Red Sox but once again like game 162 in 2011 we proved the nay sayers wrong.

As for Kevin Cash our manager, you can say what you want about him but he has proven that he’s a winning manager because in all my years watching the Rays since 1998, this has been the most unified team that they have ever had and that can go on not just the players but Kevin Cash and his whole coaching staff.

So when we come into Tuesday night playing the Athletics it should be Charlie Morton starting since he has the more playoff experience. I think the final outcome of the game will be Rays winning 5-2 as we head on into the first round against the Astros and their big 3 of a pitching staff.
