MIAMI (March 2, 2022) – Inter Miami CF announced today that its home, DRV PNK Stadium, will be hosting an international friendly between Guatemala and Haiti, organized by JA Masters Events, on Sunday, March 27. The matchup, which will be the second international friendly hosted by the club this year in its stadium in Fort Lauderdale after the game between Colombia and Honduras in January, is set to kick off at 4 p.m. ET.

Under its new head coach, Mexican manager Luis Fernando Tena, the Chapines will seek to start a new chapter that will allow them to regain international attention in the region, with the team previously winning several competitions, including the CONCACAF Championship in 1967, tournament that was later replaced by the Gold Cup, and the extinct Copa Centroamericana in 2001. In 2022, Guatemala will compete in League B of the CONCACAF Nations League after achieving promotion in the first edition of the tournament.
Haiti, meanwhile, will return to South Florida after participating in the preliminary round of the 2021 Gold Cup at DRV PNK Stadium. The team came out on top in the two matches it played at DRV PNK Stadium as part of the Gold Cup prelims, scoring an impressive total of ten goals. Haiti is also seeking to return to its glory days, having won the CONCACAF Championship in 1973 and qualified to the FIFA World Cup in 1974.

El partido, el cual será el segundo amistoso internacional albergado por el club este año en su estadio en Fort Lauderdale tras el encuentro entre Colombia y Honduras en enero, está pautado para dar inicio a las 4 p.m. ET.

Bajo el mando de su nuevo director técnico, el timonel mexicano Luis Fernando Tena, los Chapines buscarán iniciar de buena manera un nuevo capítulo que les permita retomar protagonismo a nivel de selecciones en la región, ya que en el pasado el eqiupo ganó varios títulos, incluyendo el Campeonato de Naciones de la CONCACAF en 1967, certamen que posteriormente fue reemplazado por la Copa Oro, y la extinta Copa Centroamericana en el 2001. En el 2022, Guatemala competirá en la Liga B de la Liga de Naciones de CONCACAF luego de conseguir el ascenso en la primera edición del torneo.
Por su parte, Haití, retornará al sur de la Florida luego de disputar la ronda preliminar de Copa Oro 2021 en el DRV PNK Stadium. El equipo obtuvo victorias en sus dos partidos como parte de la fase preliminar de la Copa Oro, anotando un impresionante total de diez goles. Haití también está en busca de regresar a sus días dorados, habiendo ganado el Campeonato de Naciones de la CONCACAF en 1973 y clasificado a la Copa Mundial de la FIFA en 1974.
