MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. – The Miami Dolphins announced that they have signed guard Ross Reynolds and placed offensive lineman D.J. Fluker on injured reserve.

Reynolds has spent time on the practice squads of New England (2020) and San Francisco (2019). He originally entered the NFL as an undrafted college free agent with San Francisco on May 3, 2019. Reynolds was a second-team All-Big Ten selection at Iowa as a senior in 2018.

Fluker joined the Dolphins as an unrestricted free agent on April 20, 2021. He has played in 108 NFL games with 96 starts. Fluker has played eight NFL seasons with stops in San Diego (2013-16), the N.Y. Giants (2017), Seattle (2018-19) and Baltimore (2020). He originally entered the NFL as a first-round pick (11th overall) by San Diego in the 2013 NFL Draft.

MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. – The Miami Dolphins announced that they have activated tackle Larnel Coleman off the reserve/COVID-19 list and waived guard Ross Reynolds.

Coleman was a seventh-round pick (231st overall) by Miami in the 2021 NFL Draft. He was a four-year letterman (2017-20) and three-year starter at Massachusetts, where he played in all 40 games with 29 starts, including 16 at left tackle and 13 at right tackle. He earned second-team All-Independent honors as a senior in 2020.

Reynolds signed with the Dolphins on July 29, 2021. He has spent time on the practice squads of New England (2020) and San Francisco (2019). Reynolds originally entered the NFL as an undrafted college free agent with San Francisco on May 3, 2019. He was a second-team All-Big Ten selection at Iowa as a senior in 2018.

MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. – The Miami Dolphins today announced that they have placed tight ends Cethan Carter, Mike Gesicki and Adam Shaheen on the reserve/COVID-19 list.

Carter joined the Dolphins as an unrestricted free agent on March 18, 2021. He’s played in 46 career games with five starts in four seasons (2017-20) with Cincinnati. Carter has totaled seven career receptions for 66 yards (9.4 avg.) and one touchdown. He also has 26 career special teams stops (17 solo). Carter originally entered the NFL as an undrafted college free agent with Cincinnati on May 5, 2017.

Gesicki has played in 47 games with 21 starts over three seasons (2018-20) with the Dolphins. He has 126 career receptions for 1,475 yards (11.7 avg.) and 11 touchdowns. Gesicki’s 703 receiving yards in 2020 were second-most by a tight end in Dolphins history and ranked fourth among NFL tight ends that season. He originally entered the NFL as a second-round pick (42nd overall) by Miami in the 2018 NFL Draft.

Shaheen joined the Dolphins in a trade from Chicago on July 26, 2020. He played in all 16 games with five starts for Miami in 2020, totaling 12 receptions for 150 yards (12.5 avg.) and three touchdowns. Shaheen has played in 43 NFL games with 18 starts, totaling 38 receptions for 399 yards (10.5 avg.) and seven touchdowns. He originally entered the NFL as a second-round pick (45th overall) by Chicago in the 2017 NFL Draft.

MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. – The Miami Dolphins announced that they have signed tight ends Sal Cannella and Kalif Jackson. The team also activated wide receiver DeVante Parker off the active/physically unable to perform list and placed wide receiver Preston Williams on the reserve/COVID-19 list.

Cannella was a three-year letterman (2017-19) at Auburn, where he caught 25 career passes for 330 yards (12.8 avg.) and five touchdowns. As a senior in 2019, Cannella had 10 receptions for 188 yards (18.8 avg.) and two scores. He transferred to Auburn from Scottsdale (Ariz.) Community College following the 2016 season.

Jackson was a two-year letterman (2018-19) at Grambling State, where he played in 19 games. He totaled nine career receptions for 79 yards (8.8 avg.). Jackson was a graduate transfer from Florida following the 2017 season. He appeared in nine games for the Gators from 2016-17.

Parker has played in 83 career games with 56 starts in six seasons (2015-20) with the Dolphins. His 4,212 career receiving yards are eighth in team history while his 298 receptions rank ninth. Parker played in 14 games with 11 starts for Miami in 2020, totaling 63 receptions for 793 yards (12.6 avg.) and four touchdowns. He originally entered the NFL as a first-round pick (14th overall) by the Dolphins in the 2015 NFL Draft.

Williams has played in 16 games with 14 starts over two seasons (2019-20) with the Dolphins. He’s totaled 50 career receptions for 716 yards (14.3 avg.) and seven touchdowns. Williams played in eight games with seven starts for the Dolphins in 2020, recording 18 catches for 288 yards (16.0 avg.) and four touchdowns. He originally entered the NFL as an undrafted college free agent with Miami on May 9, 2019.

Holmes originally entered the NFL as an undrafted college free agent with Oakland on May 8, 2015. A native of Miramar, Florida, Holmes prepped at St. Thomas Aquinas High School.

 The Jacksonville Jaguars have activated QB Jake Luton from the Reserve/COVID-19 list, the club announced.

JACKSONVILLE – The Jacksonville Jaguars have signed second-year WR Tevin Jones, the club announced. Additionally, the Jaguars have released LB Leon Jacobs and K Aldrick Rosas.

Jones entered the NFL in 2016 when he signed with the Houston Texans as a rookie free agent, and he most recently played with the Saskatchewan Roughriders in 2021. He has played in five NFL games, all with Pittsburgh in 2019, and caught four passes for 61 yards.

Jones played collegiately at Memphis and caught 90 passes for 1,215 yards and nine TDs. As a junior in 2014, he tallied 442 receiving yards and three TDs on 33 catches. He attended Clear Creek (League City, Texas) High School and hauled in 34 catches for 610 yards as a senior.

JACKSONVILLE – The Jacksonville Jaguars have signed WR Jeff Cotton, the team announced.

Cotton, 6-2, 206, signed with the Los Angles Chargers as an undrafted free agent in 2020 and spent last season on the team’s practice squad. Collegiately, he spent time at Pima Community College before transferring to Idaho in 2018. He hauled in 137 catches for 1,797 yards and 14 touchdowns in two seasons (2018-19) for the Vandals. 

Originally from Tucson, Ariz., Cotton attended Mountain View High School and earned first-team all-region and First Team All-Southern Arizona honors as a senior. He finished his senior season with 43 receptions for 847 yards and six touchdowns.

JAGUARS ANNOUNCE ADDITIONS TO THE COACHING AND SCOUTING STAFF

The Jacksonville Jaguars announced additions to both the coaching staff and scouting department. By way of the Bill Walsh Diversity Coaching Fellowship, the Jaguars have hired Martin Bayless (special teams) and Kiel McDonald (running backs). Through the Nunn-Wooten Scouting Fellowship, the Jaguars have hired added Aashon Larkins and Byron Archambault.

Bayless played in the NFL for 13 seasons (1984-96) and had stints with the St. Louis Cardinals, Bills, Chargers, Washington Football Team and Chiefs. He played college football at Bowling Green (1980-84) and was inducted into the Bowling Green State University Hall of Fame in 1989. After his football career, he joined the Bills front office as a director of player development before transitioning to coaching. He has coached for several NFL teams in various roles. Most recently, he was the special teams coordinator and safeties coach for the Los Angles Wildcats of the XFL.

McDonald is currently the running backs coach for the University of Utah, where he has been for four seasons. Under McDonald’s guidance, Utah led the Pac-12 in rushing in 2019 behind senior RB Zack Moss’ 1,416 yards on the ground, Moss’ third career 1,000-yard season with McDonald as his coach. McDonald’s collegiate playing career started at Sacramento City College, where he was an honorable mention All-NorCal Conference cornerback as a sophomore. He transferred to Sacramento State, where he played in 2005, before graduating with honors in the spring of 2006. McDonald finished his career at Idaho, tallying 31 tackles (two for loss), an interception and five pass breakups in 2006.

Larkins is the director of recruiting at the University of Michigan where he helps with the Wolverines’ recruiting and player development efforts. Prior to his time at Michigan, he served as the special teams and recruiting coordinator at Bethune Cookman from 2015-19. He also served as the cornerbacks coach and special teams coordinator at Jacksonville State University and spent eight seasons with The Citadel where he held several roles, including coaching linebackers and special teams. Larkins graduated from Lehigh University in 2003.

Archambault currently serves as the director of national scouting for the Montreal Alouettes. Prior to his stint with the Alouettes, he worked for the University of Montreal Carabins from 2017 to 2019, as the special teams coordinator and linebackers coach. He played two years in the CFL with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats after being a second-round pick (17th overall) in the 2015 CFL draft. He was a First Team All-Canadian in 2014 and was named the Quebec Conference Outstanding Defensive Player after recording 49.5 tackles in his senior year. The Bill Walsh Diversity Coaching Fellowship was designed as a vocational tool to increase the number of full-time NFL minority coaches, all 32 NFL clubs participate each year. Specific aspects of the program including hiring, compensation and coaching duties, which are administered on a club-by-club basis. 

The Nunn-Wooten Scouting Fellowship, created by the NFL in January 2015, exposes interested and qualified candidates to a career in professional scouting. The program will give participants a unique glimpse into Player Personnel by introducing them to various areas related to college and pro scouting within a club.

Bayless, McDonald, Larkins and Archambault will be with the team for the duration of training camp.
