Do You Take Time For Yourself?

Do you wait until you can’t move a muscle before you take time for yourself?

If you were to suddenly find yourself exhausted, feeling like your unable focus, what is one thing you could do to take a break?

After another busy week and working into the weekend, I found myself suddenly ‘out of steam’ by noon! No matter how many things I still had on my “to do” list, nothing further was going to be done. All I had energy for was to lie down and sleep for a bit. This used to happen to me more often; however, since I have implemented regular intervals of self-care, this occurrence was unusual, yet a good reminder not to fall off track. Though I often take small breaks to rest my body, I sometimes forget the importance of taking a ‘brain break’. 

Have you or someone you know ever experienced this? 

Often, we may focus on exercise regimens, healthy eating plans, and our physical well-being. Exercising, as well as, resting our brain is also significant to acknowledge and is a beneficial, healthy practice for our mental well-being.

Recently, I tried adding regular short “brain breaks into each day playing my favorite spa music while sitting relaxed with closed eyes. It is a wonderful mental escape to wherever possibility dares to take me. When the timer I set goes off, it may be time to come back to the present but the brief escape helps me smile with satisfaction that I am taking some time for myself.
