DETROIT – March 6, 2024 – The Detroit Pistons announced today that the team has signed forward/center Taj Gibson to a 10-day contract. Per team policy, terms of the agreement were not disclosed. Gibson, 6-9, 232, is a 15-year NBA veteran and has appeared in 961 career games (450 starts) for Chicago, Oklahoma City, Minnesota, New York and Washington. The No. 26 overall pick in the 2009 NBA Draft, Gibson holds career averages of 8.6 points, 5.8 rebounds, 1.0 assists and 1.0 blocks in 23.5 minutes per game. Gibson appeared in 71 career playoff games and averaged 7.8 points, 4.9 rebounds and 0.6 assists in 22.3 minutes. A native of Brooklyn, N.Y., Gibson most recently appeared in 16 games with the New York Knicks this season. Gibson played collegiately at the University of Southern California from 2006-09 where he was named Pac-10 Defensive Player of the Year and Second-Team All-Pac-10 in 2009. -pistons.com-
