DETROIT PISTONS SIGN CHEICK DIALLO TO 10-DAY CONTRACT

  DETROIT – Dec. 23, 2021 – The Detroit Pistons announced today that the club has signed Cheick Diallo to a 10-day contract using the COVID-related hardship allowance. Per team policy, terms of the agreement were not disclosed.  

               Diallo, 6-8, 219, has appeared in 13 games this season with the Motor City Cruise, the Detroit Pistons’ G League affiliate, tallying averages of 14.2 points, 8.5 rebounds, 0.7 assists and 1.2 blocks in 21.6 minutes. In his last two games in the Showcase Cup Tournament in Las Vegas, Diallo averaged 23.5 points and 16.0 rebounds to help lead the Cruise to the semifinals.

               Diallo has four years of NBA experience, posting clips of 5.3 points and 4.2 rebounds in 12.0 minutes over 180 NBA games (three starts). He most recently suited up for the Phoenix Suns in 2019-20 after spending three seasons with the New Orleans Pelicans from 2016-19. The Mali native was drafted 33rd overall in the 2016 NBA Draft by the L.A. Clippers following one season playing collegiately at Kansas. 

               Diallo will wear No. 00 for the Pistons.
