Team Sends Monte Morris to Timberwolves
DETROIT – February 8, 2024 – The Detroit Pistons announced today that the team has acquired forward Troy Brown Jr., guard Shake Milton and a 2030 second round pick from the Minnesota Timberwolves for guard Monte Morris. Brown Jr., 6-6, 215, has played in 334 career games (87 starts) over six seasons while averaging 6.3 points, 3.6 rebounds, 1.4 assists and 0.7 steals with Washington, Chicago, Los Angeles Lakers and Minnesota. He is shooting .369 3PT% in 37 games (three starts) with the Timberwolves this season, the second highest 3PT% mark of his career. He was drafted 15th overall in the 2018 NBA Draft after averaging 11.2 points, 6.2 rebounds, 3.2 assists and 1.6 steals in his lone season as an Oregon Duck in 2017-18. The Las Vegas native was the 12th-ranked overall recruit in the 2017 high school class. Milton, 6-5, 205, is a six-year NBA veteran. He spent his first five seasons with the Philadelphia 76ers prior to signing with Minnesota last offseason. In 292 career NBA games (45 starts), he has averaged 8.7 points, 2.2 rebounds and 2.5 assists while shooting .358 3PT% in 19.8 minutes per game. He averaged 4.7 points in 38 games off the bench for the Timberwolves this season. The 28-year-old Milton was drafted No. 54 overall in the 2018 NBA Draft after three seasons at Southern Methodist University (2015-18). He was named a High School Parade All-American out of Owasso High School in Owasso, Okla., and was a member of the 2015-16 American Athletic Conference All-Freshman Team. A native of Flint, Mich., Morris has averaged 10.4 points, 2.5 rebounds and 4.0 assists in 348 career NBA games (166 starts) across seven seasons with Denver, Washington and Detroit. He signed as a free agent with the Pistons this offseason and averaged 4.5 points and 1.3 assists in six games after missing the first 43 games of the season due to injury.-pistons.com- |
