Detroit Lions Travel To The Twin Cities Of Minnesota

By: Jeremy T. Ballreich

This week the Lions face a defensive battle against a team that has struggles where it used to be a strength. On offense. For years, the Achilles Heel of the Vikings has been the defense. Who has had its share of star players. But somehow would always cost them games.

Now DC Brian Flores has turned this unit, without all the household names, into a force and in the top 10 statistically.  They still struggle against strong running teams. Which sets up playaction passing for over the top plays. But they blitz from almost everywhere on the defense. I think our Oline will have it’s hands full.

Detroit remains as top 10 offense and have a very good backfield Captained by Jared Goff at QB who bounced back, after his 6 weeks of mediocre to down right awful play! To right the ship last week. Joined by David Montgomery and the rookie star Jahmyr Gibbs. As long as Ben Johnson doesn’t get predictable should do fine. It All starts with the Oline, which is the same for 90% of the QBs in the league.

The Lions RB room leads the Division in Yards with 1657 and 17 TDs combined with David Montgomery 4.8 Yard Per Carry (Career Best) and 10 TDs. Jahmyr Gibbs has 5.7 Yards Per Carry and 7 TDs. Making them one of the most lethal combos in the league.

Hopefully Dan ‘The Gambler’ Campbell keeps his hands on the defense this week. And we get to watch the benefits of them securing their first division title since 1993 not needing any other outcome to take care of a playoff birth.

Score Predictions:

If everything goes right:
DET    31
MIN    24

If it goes off the rails:
DET     17
MIN     28
