Detroit Lions Host Third Annual Cooking Competition

WHAT: The Detroit Lions will host its third annual cooking competition. The event consists of three rounds: Appetizer, Entrée, and Dessert. The four chefs selected to compete are students from the culinary program at Breithaupt Career and Technical Center. Detroit Lions players will be paired with the students to serve as sous chefs.
Breithaupt Career and Technical Center prepares students in grades 10-12 for a world-class workforce through skilled training. Known for its renowned Culinary Program, Breithaupt Career and Technical Center provides a curriculum that combines integrated academic and technical content and strong employability skills. Students receive work-based learning opportunities that will enable them to connect what they are learning to real-life career scenarios and choices.
Students participating in the culinary program will be invited to watch their classmates compete for the grand prize and participate in Minute to Win it style games between rounds. The grand prize winner will receive $1,500 scholarship to continue their culinary studies at the Culinary Institute of Michigan, a division of Baker College.
WHEN: Tuesday, October 29, 2019, 12:30 p.m. – 3:30 p.m.Media check-in begins at Noon. Availability will take place during the first round of the competition at approximately 1:00 p.m.
