Detroit Lions and Miami Dolphins Roster Moves

LIONS SIGN T TAYLOR DECKER TO MULTI-YEAR CONTRACT EXTENSION
Allen Park, Mich.— The Detroit Lions announced today that they have signed T Taylor Decker to a multi-year contract extension. Additional contract terms were not disclosed.
“Since the day we drafted him, Taylor has dedicated himself to our program and has developed into an important piece of our offense,” Lions Executive Vice President of Football Operations and General Manager Bob Quinn said. “As one of our team captains, he sets a great example for every player in our locker room. This extension is a reflection of all of Taylor’s hard work, and we are incredibly excited to come to this agreement and continue to work with Taylor for years to come. I also want to thank Taylor and his representatives for their work in making this extension a reality.”
Decker joined the Lions in 2016 as the team’s first-round draft selection (16th overall) out of Ohio State. Entering his fifth NFL season, he has started all 55 games in which he’s appeared, including 15 starts at left tackle last season.
LIONS AWARDED DT ALBERT HUGGINS VIA WAIVERS FROM HOUSTON TEXANS
Allen Park, Mich.— The Detroit Lions announced today that they have been awarded DT Albert Huggins via waivers from the Houston Texans.
Originally signing with the Texans as an undrafted rookie free agent out of Clemson in 2019, Huggins spent time on the active rosters for the Philadelphia Eagles and New England Patriots last season. He appeared in four games for the Eagles in 2019, notching three total tackles and one quarterback hit.

Miami Dolphins release Rogers

MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. – The Miami Dolphins today announced they have released wide receiver Chester Rogers.

Rogers was signed by the Dolphins on Aug. 9, 2020. He played four seasons with the Indianapolis Colts (2016-19) and appeared in 53 career games with 22 starts. Rogers has 111 career receptions for 1,221 yards (11.0 avg.) and five touchdowns. He also has five carries for 22 yards (4.4 avg.), five kickoff returns for 42 yards (8.4 avg.) and 60 punt returns for 551 yards (9.2 avg.). Rogers originally entered the NFL as an undrafted college free agent with Indianapolis on May 3, 2016.
