Demonstrators block major highway in Miami and Coral Springs to offer Family Fun Nights

To show solidarity with people in Cuba protesting against the nation’s communist leadership, South Florida demonstrators stopped all traffic on the Palmetto Expressway/State Road 826 in Miami. This lead to some discussion about the recent anti-protest law which was promoted and signed by Gov. Ron DeSantis. He signed the law in April. At the time he said this new law would prevent protest groups from shutting down major highways. People of all ages, many with Cuban flags were on the highway and remained there through rush hour. Miami-Dade police asked them to leave but they remained in place.
