Corrick Named The American Pitcher of the Week

Sophomore Georgina Corrick was named The American Pitcher of the Week after an undefeated weekend in the circle

PROVIDENCE, R.I., April 1, 2019 – Sophomore Georgina Corrick was named The American Pitcher of the week on Monday after an undefeated, 2-0, weekend in the circle in USF’s 3-0 sweep of Houston.

Corrick (Sanford, Fla.) went 2-0 with a pair of complete games in two appearances to lead the Bulls to a series sweep over Houston, tossing 14 innings and striking out 21 batters. She allowed eight hits and one walk as the Bulls notched wins on Friday and Sunday afternoons.

Corrick has won 14 of her last 15 games, and her 13 strikeouts on Friday were the most times Houston has struck out this season. The righty has reached double-digit strikeouts five times this season.

USF returns home this weekend to take on ECU (19-17, 1-5) April 5-7. The Bulls and Pirates will face off at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, 5:30 p.m. on Saturday and 1 p.m. on Sunday.
