Mayor Scott J. Brook said, “Local government is meant to improve social, economic, and environmental viability for residents and community members. Without city transparency and education, sustaining the quality of life for our Coral Springs residents is just not possible. We host programs like the Annual Government Academy that provide residents with a platform to engage, inform and prepare themselves for a more active role in the city because working together with those who reside in our community is the best way we can run an effective local government.”

The annual academy offers participants with essential information about city services and operations and provides them with the fundamentals and complexity of municipal operations including communication strategies, public safety, utilities, parks, and community development.

The Government Academy is open to all Coral Springs residents 16 and older and those attending will have the unique opportunity of being introduced to members of the City Commission, City Manager, and city staff. Current committee members and board appointees are encouraged to attend.

Class size is limited, and participants must pre-register to attend.
