Coral Springs to honor military veterans

Each year the City of Coral Springs partners with the Veterans Coalition of Coral Springs to host an annual Veterans Day ceremony to honor the brave men and women who currently serve and served in our nations armed. Residents are invited to join us at Veterans Park (located at 8601 Royal Palm Blvd.), just east of University Drive) on Thursday, November 11 at 10:45 a.m.

Dr. Ana Barbosa, Manager of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion for the City of Coral Springs will be the guest speaker. Dr. Barbosa, a retired Senior Master Sergeant of the United States Air Force, served as the Chief Advisor to the Commander on all matters concerning the health, morale, welfare, readiness, and personnel programs for the service men and women under their leadership.

The Coral Springs Police and Fire Honor Guard will honor the nation’s military members with a wreath laying and full honors.

Mayor Scott Brook, who is providing remarks during the ceremony says, “Celebrating the sacrifice of our military men and women is one of the most important things we can do as a community. I am so proud to join my fellow City Commissioners, the members of the Veterans Coalition of Coral Springs and residents to extend our collective gratitude for their service.”
