Coral Springs tightens facial mask requirements

Due to the rapid state and local rise of COVID-19 cases, specifically the Delta Variant, effective tomorrow, Tuesday, July 27, 2021, and regardless of vaccination, all employees, visitors, and contractors entering a city facility are required to wear a facial covering.

City Manager Frank Babinec said, “The rapid spread of the COVID-19 Delta Variant is a public health concern, especially for those who are unvaccinated. Since the start of the pandemic, our greatest priority has been protecting the health and safety of our workforce and the residents we serve. We have relied on the guidance and expertise of public health professionals, like our Medical Director, Dr. Peter Antevy, who have recommended we resume the use of facial coverings to reduce the spread of the virus.”

Florida now accounts for 20% of all COVID-19 cases in the nation. For those unvaccinated, as a reminder, the vaccination site at the Coral Square Mall is still operational Wednesday through Sunday and administers the Pfizer vaccine. No appointment required.
