Coral Glades football team defeats Coral Springs 42 to 6, Coral Springs Charter Cheerleading, Coral Springs Charter band, Coral Springs Charter football, and Coral Glades Cheerleading Team



The Coral Glades Football team defeated Coral Springs 42 to 6. Coach Cam Thomas was pleased with the victory but said the team will have to work very hard to continue to win. “This was the first time we have beaten them in nine years. This was a good win for us,” he said.

Top performers for the Jaguars included Christian Garnett, Joshua Guerin, Jade Wilson, Aiden Harris, Joseph Rispoli and Kyle Nelson.

Cheerleading is a very popular and successful sport at Coral Springs Charter High School. The girls who are part of the football cheerleading team are very dedicated and committed to the team. Karly Ruskin, a team captain loves being on the team. “It is fun and an opportunity to show school spirit. We lead school spirit. We must have a positive attitude and be role models at the school,” said Ruskin.

Kennedy Mulvey, a team captain has a passion for cheerleading. “Being a member of the cheerleading team has helped me gain confidence. It is a good social opportunity and a way to make friends. We are a family,” she said.

Kasey Werner also loves being on the team. “Cheerleading brings people together. I love cheering on the teams.”

Most of the girls on the Coral Springs Charter cheerleading team have been active in the sport for years and love cheering.

Kaitlin Wenke loves being a leader in the Coral Springs Charter High School Band. She plays Alto Sax and is a drum major. “I spend most of my time directing the band. I love playing music and I love being in the band. We have fun together,” she said.

Kayla Vargas, also a drum major plays clarinet. “We have good band program and I love being a part of it. We love to practice and perform. We are like a big family,” she said.

Members of the Coral Springs Charter band perform at football games and at competitions. They love performing and the family atmosphere of band.

The Coral Springs Charter football team competed against LaSalle. The Panther struggled but gained valuable game experience. Top players for the Panthers include Noah Fernandez, a line player, Mason Phillips, wide receiver, Brock Wilson, Keon Taylor, a running back and Ryan O’Keefe, a quarterback.

The Coral Glades Football Cheerleading team is a very popular and successful organization. Coach Nikki Guzman said, “We have a very good and strong team. We will do well this season.”

Over the years, the Coral Glades football and competitive teams have done very well. The girls love to cheer and consider the team a large family.
