Commissioner Joy Carter appointed to Florida League of Cities committee

Coral Springs Commissioner Joy Carter has been appointed to serve on the Florida League of Cities 2021-2022 Land Use and Economic legislative policy committee. The Florida League of Cities FLC) is the united voice for Florida’s municipal governments.
 
Legislative Policy Committee chairs, vice chairs and members were appointed by the League’s incoming President, City of Lakeland Commissioner Phillip Walker.
 
As a legislative policy committee member, Commissioner Carter will help to develop the FLC Legislative Action Agenda, which details priority issues that are most likely to affect daily municipal governance and local decision-making during the upcoming legislative session, as well as help FLC staff understand the real-world implications of proposed legislation and are asked to serve as advocates throughout the legislative process.
 
Carter said, “Serving as a legislative policy committee member is an honor that I look forward to. Having a voice to guide policy direction for the Florida League of Cities legislative efforts is a benefit to our city, because I plan to advocate for issues that directly affect our community. In this new role I plan to work towards solutions for the betterment of the business community and the state.”
