Closing Out Regular Season at FIU

BOCA RATON, Fla. – The Florida Atlantic University women’s basketball team (5-23, 1-16 in Conference USA) will wrap up the regular season at FIU (13-15, 5-12 in C-USA) on Saturday afternoon. Tipoff is set for noon at Ocean Convocation Center in Miami with the game being broadcast on ESPN+. The C-USA Championship bracket will be released on Saturday night following the conclusion of all league games.
 ABOUT THE OWLS

  • FAU is set to play its final regular season game with a Saturday noon matchup at FIU. This marks the second time this week the two teams will square off in the home-and-home series
  • The C-USA Championship bracket will be released on Saturday evening following the conclusion of all C-USA contests
  • Janeta Rozentale leads the Owls with a near double-double of 11.6 points and 8.5 rebounds per game

 SERIES HISTORY VS. PANTHERS

  • FAU has a long history with FIU, trailing in the all-time series 35-15
  • The first meeting between the two teams was on Jan. 28, 1985. FAU lost to FIU in the first 10 games, winning their first matchup of the series in 1996 in a 71-64 feat in Hammond, Louisiana
  • FAU has had the edge in the past few outings, winning five of the last eight against the Panthers
  • FAU is 9-16 at home, 5-19 away and 1-1 on a neutral site vs. the Panthers
  • In the last matchup, which was last Wednesday in Boca Raton, FAU fell 73-55, as the Owls were unable to catch back up after FIU outscored FAU 24-10 in the second quarter. Rozentale led the way off the bench with 18 points and 11 rebounds
