POSTGAME NOTES

DOLPHINS WIN FOURTH IN A ROW, DEFEAT BROWNS 39 – 17
• The Miami Dolphins are 7-3 this season, which is the team’s best 10-game start since 2001, when they were also 7-3.
• Head Coach Mike McDaniel joins Dave Wannstedt as the only head coaches in team history to win at least seven of their first 10 games. Wannstedt went 7-3 in his first 10 games in 2000.
• The Dolphins are now 13-2 in the past 15 games QB Tua Tagovailoa has started and 14-1 in the past 15 games he’s finished (includes games that Tagovailoa left early due to the Dolphins holding a large lead).
• This is Miami’s 10th win in its past 11 games at Hard Rock Stadium. It’s the best 11-game home stretch for the team since they went 10-1 from Dec. 10, 2001 to Dec. 15, 2002.
• The Dolphins have now won three of their past four meetings with Cleveland and lead the all-time series 12-9 (including playoffs).
DOLPHINS HAVE ANOTHER EFFICIENT DAY ON OFFENSE
• The Miami Dolphins scored at least seven points in each quarter today en route to 39 points total.
o It is the first time Miami has scored 30+ points in three straight games since a 4-game streak from Oct. 4, 2009 to Nov. 1, 2009.
• The Dolphins did not punt in a game for the first time since Dec. 28, 2003 vs. the N.Y. Jets. It was just the fifth time in franchise history the team did not punt.
o The Dolphins have punted just two times in the past three games. It’s the first time in team history the
Dolphins have punted two times or less in a three-game span.
• Miami also did not allow a sack of QB Tua Tagovailoa. Tagovailoa has been sacked in only one of the four games he’s played since returning from injury in Week 7 vs. Pittsburgh.
o The one sack Miami did surrender today was when WR Cedrick Wilson Jr. was attempting to pass.
• The Dolphins totaled 491 yards on 67 plays, averaging 7.3 yards per play.
o It’s the fourth time this season Miami has topped 450 total yards, tied with the Chiefs for the most such
games in the NFL this year.
 The last time the Dolphins had at least four games of 450+ total yards in a season was 2016.
o It was the most yards allowed by the Browns since Oct. 10, 2021 at the L.A. Chargers when they allowed 493 yards.
o The Dolphins are now averaging 6.44 yards per play, which is the second-best in the NFL this season (as of 5:45 p.m.).
• Miami has turned the ball over only once in the past four games since Tagovailoa returned from injury. The turnover was a fumble by WR Braylon Sanders in Week 8 at Detroit.
• The Dolphins totaled 29 first downs today – 17 by pass, 11 by run and one by penalty. It’s the most first downs in a game for Miami since Dec. 22, 2019 vs. Cincinnati when they also had 29.
o The Dolphins have topped 20 first downs in three consecutive games. The last time Miami had at least three games with 20+ first downs was from Nov. 29, 2020 to Dec. 20, 2020 when they did so in four straight contests.

o Combined with his yardage for the 49ers this season, Wilson now has 638 rushing yards on the year. It tops his previous career high of 600 rushing yards in 2020.
o Wilson’s 119 rushing yards are the most a Dolphin has ever had in the 19 all-time games vs. Cleveland,

• RB Raheem Mostert had eight carries for 65 yards (8.1 avg.) and one touchdown – a 24-yard score in the third quarter.
o It was the fifth time this season Mostert has rushed for at least 60 yards in a game.
o This was Mostert’s fifth straight game against an AFC North opponent with 75+ scrimmage yards.
• With Mostert’s 113-yard rushing performance earlier this season against the N.Y. Jets, this marks the first time since the 2018 season (Frank Gore and Kalen Ballage) the Dolphins have had two different players top 100 rushing yards in a game in the same season.
TAGOVAILOA CONTINUES STELLAR PLAY
• QB Tua Tagovailoa completed 25-of-32 passes (78.1 pct.) for 285 yards, three touchdowns and no interceptions today, good for a 135.0 passer rating.
o The three highest rated games of his career have all come in the past three weeks – 138.7 in Week 8 at
Detroit, 135.7 in Week 9 at Chicago and 135.0 today.
o Tagovailoa’s passer rating this season is 118.4, which is the best in the NFL by at least 10 points.

decade behind QB Aaron Rodgers in 2020 (121.5) and QB Nick Foles in 2013 (119.2).
• Tagovailoa has 10 touchdown passes and no interceptions since returning from injury in Week 7 vs. Pittsburgh.

DEFENSE TURNS UP THE HEAT ON BROWNS
• The Dolphins defense got after the passer today, recording three sacks and 14 quarterback hits on 35 pass attempts by Browns QB Jacoby Brissett.

o Miami allowed just 185 passing yards, which is the second game in a row they’ve allowed fewer than 200 passing yards and the fifth time this season they’ve allowed under 200 passing yards.
o Cleveland’s 185 passing yards and 112 rushing yards were its second fewest of the season each.
• DT Christian Wilkins applied a lot of pressure, picking up a pair of half sacks (for 1.0 total) and three quarterback hits.
o Wilkins tied for the team lead with seven total tackles (three solo) today. He now has 50 total tackles this season, which are third-most among NFL defensive linemen as of 6:20 p.m.

• DT Zach Sieler forced a fumble of Browns RB Nick Chubb that was recovered by CB Xavien Howard in the first quarter.
o It was Sieler’s third career forced fumble and Howard’s fourth career fumble recovery.

DOLPHINS LED 17 – 7 AFTER FIRST HALF
• The Dolphins scored 17 unanswered points to finish the first half after Cleveland took a 7-0 lead on the opening possession.
