Cincinnati Bengals at Miami Dolphins: Postgame Notes

DOLPHINS BEAT BENGALS, 38-35
• The Dolphins’ win over Cincinnati today is their third home win of the season. It extends Miami’s streak to nine consecutive seasons with at least three home victories.
• Miami has now won four of its past eight games and three of its past four home games.
• This is the Dolphins’ first win over Cincinnati since Oct. 31, 2013.
• K Jason Sanders won the game with a 37-yard field goal as time expired in overtime. It was the third game-winning
kick of Sanders’ career and his second overtime game-winner after he booted a 47-yarder as time expired in
overtime on Oct. 14, 2018 vs. Chicago.
• QB Ryan Fitzpatrick engineered a 10-play, 51-yard drive at the end of overtime to set up the game-winning field
goal. It was the 16th game-winning drive of Fitzpatrick’s career and his third in the past six weeks.
• Miami has now won 20 of its past 32 games at Hard Rock Stadium, dating back to Jan. 3, 2016. It’s the team’s best
32-game home stretch since going 20-12 from Dec. 2, 2001 to Oct. 21, 2005.
FITZPATRICK THROWS FOR 419 YARDS IN VICTORY
• QB Ryan Fitzpatrick had his best day as a Dolphin, completing 31-of-52 passes (59.6 pct.) for 419 yards and four touchdowns for a quarterback rating of 103.0.
• Fitzpatrick joins Dan Marino as the only quarterbacks in team history to throw for 400 yards and four touchdowns in a regular-season game. Marino did it seven times, the last on Sept. 4, 1994 vs. New England.
• Fitzpatrick’s 419 passing yards today were the 11th-most in Dolphins history and the most since Ryan Tannehill threw for 431 yards at Arizona on Sept. 30, 2012. He’s the sixth player in Dolphins history to throw for 400 yards in a game.
• Fitzpatrick’s performance marked the eighth time in the NFL this season a quarterback threw for 400-plus yards and four-plus touchdowns. It was the 19th 400-yard game by a QB in the NFL in 2019.
• Fitzpatrick topped 3,000 passing yards for the season today. He’s the sixth quarterback in team history to throw for 3,000 yards in a season and first since Ryan Tannehill in 2015.
• It marks the fifth 3,000-yard passing season of his career.
PARKER TOPS 100 YARDS TODAY AND 1,000 YARDS FOR THE SEASON
• WR DeVante Parker caught five passes for 111 yards (22.2 avg.) and one touchdown. It was his third 100-yard game in his past six contests.
• Parker now has 64 receptions for 1,065 yards (16.6 avg.) and nine touchdowns. His 1,065 receiving yards are 13th in team history and the most since Jarvis Landry had 1,136 in 2016. His nine touchdown receptions are tied for 15th.
• Parker’s 1,065 receiving yards this season are 15th in the NFL and his nine touchdown receptions are tied for third.
• Parker caught his ninth touchdown of the season on a 7-yard pass in the first quarter. He had three receptions for 78 yards (26.0 avg.) on Miami’s second offensive possession, capped off by his score.
• Since the bye, Parker has 54 receptions for 864 yards (16.0 avg.) and eight touchdowns. His 864 yards in that span are fourth in the NFL while his eight touchdowns are tied for the league lead.


FITZPATRICK’S FIRST HALF
• QB Ryan Fitzpatrick completed 18-of-30 passes (60.0 pct.) for 252 yards, three touchdowns and no interceptions in the first half, giving him a passer rating of 120.4 and the Dolphins a 21-6 halftime lead.
• Fitzpatrick’s 252 passing yards were the second-most by a Dolphins quarterback in the first half ever. Dan Marino threw for 318 yards in the first half on Sept. 30, 1984 at St. Louis Cardinals.
• His 30 pass attempts were tied for the most in a first half by a Dolphins quarterback since at least 1991. QB Ryan Tannehill also had 30 first-half pass attempts on Dec. 1, 2013 at the N.Y. Jets.
GESICKI TALLIES FIRST MULTI-SCORE GAME
• TE Mike Gesicki caught six passes for 82 yards (13.7 avg.) and two touchdowns. It was the first multi-score game of Gesicki’s career.
• Gesicki’s 536 receiving yards this season are 13th-most in Dolphins history by a tight end. It’s the most since Charles Clay had 605 in the 2014 season. His 47 receptions are 10th by a tight end in team history.
• Gesicki ranks 13th among NFL tight ends with 536 receiving yards this year. His 47 receptions are 12th.
• Since the bye week, Gesicki has 41 receptions for 485 yards (11.8 avg.) and four touchdowns. His 41 receptions are
ninth in the league and his 485 receiving yards are 10th in the NFL during that span.
WILKINS SCORES FIRST CAREER TOUCHDOWN
• DT Christian Wilkins scored a 1-yard touchdown today on Miami’s first possession. He caught a pass out of the backfield and recovered his own fumble in the end zone for the score.
• It was the first reception and touchdown of Wilkins’ NFL career. He had a 1-yard receiving touchdown in college at Clemson, catching a TD pass from QB Deshaun Watson on Sept. 10, 2016 vs. Troy.
• Wilkins became the sixth 300-plus pound player in the NFL this season to catch a touchdown this season. That is the most in an NFL season since at least 1995.
• Wilkins is just the second Dolphins player ever to catch a touchdown who primarily played defensive line. Vern Den Herder caught a 7-yard TD pass on Oct. 29, 1978 vs. the Baltimore Colts.
