Bulls at FAU Kick Set for 6 p.m. on CBSSN

USF football gets first kick time of the season

TAMPA, AUG. 28, 2020 – The USF football program received its first kickoff time of the season Friday as Conference USA released several kick times and television designations, including for the Bulls’ Sept. 26 contest at FAU.

The contest against the Owls in Boca Raton will kick off at 6 p.m. and will be televised by CBS Sports Network. USF expects to receive a kickoff time and television designation for its season opener on Sept. 12 vs. The Citadel in Raymond James Stadium sometime early next week.

The Bulls’ contest at FAU will be the middle game in a run of three straight opponents from Sept. 19-Oct. 3 that posted 11 wins in 2019. USF will face Notre Dame (11-2), FAU (11-3) and Cincinnati (11-3) in succession, all on the road. The Oct. 3 contest at the Bearcats will mark the start of the conference season.

The Bulls have six 2020 opponents that won 10 or more games in 2019 and five that finished 2019 ranked in the final AP Top 25, with three of those games coming on the road.

The defending Conference USA champion Owls went 11-3 last year and downed SMU, 52-28, in the Boca Raton Bowl. Jeff Scott’s first USF staff features defensive coordinator Glenn Spencer, offensive coordinator Charlie Weis Jr. and safeties coach Wes Neighbors, who all served in similar roles for FAU last year, as well as several other former FAU staff members now at USF. Meanwhile, former USF head coaches Willie Taggart (2013-16) and Jim Leavitt (1997-2009) are now FAU’s head coach and defensive coordinator, respectively, on an FAU staff that features several other former USF staff members.

Scott and USF’s new coaching staff will take the field with 16 returning starters and 49 lettermen from the 2019 team.

Ticket and attendance information for Raymond James Stadium during the 2020 season will be announced in the near future.
