Biondi, Castillo Named to Preseason Haskins Award Watch List

The award is considered the most prestigious award in collegiate golf, and is presented annually to the most outstanding male golfer.

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Florida men’s golfers Fred Biondi<https://floridagators.com/roster.aspx?rp_id=15418> and Ricky Castillo<https://floridagators.com/roster.aspx?rp_id=15419> were named to the Preseason Haskins Award Watch List, Golfweek and Golf Channel announced Thursday.

Celebrating its 53rd year, the Fred Haskins Award presented by Stifel is considered the most prestigious award in collegiate golf, and is presented annually to the most outstanding male golfer. The winner of the oldest individual college golf award is voted on by players, coaches, golf SIDS, and select golf media members and will be announced in early June.

Both Gators have been named finalists for the award with Biondi last year and Castillo in 2020. The duo was also named in the Class of 2023 PGA Tour University Rankings<https://floridagators.com/news/2022/7/27/mens-golf-biondi-ranked-no-1-in-preseason-pga-tour-university-rankings-four-gators-in-top-25.aspx> led by Biondi at No. 1 with Castillo tabbed No. 19.
