MELBOURNE, Fla. – After dropping the Sunshine State Conference series opener against the Florida Tech Panthers, the Nova Southeastern Sharks Baseball team responded by taking the series with a 10-3 victory on Sunday afternoon. NSU outscored FIT 30-10 in the victories on Saturday and Sunday.

- NSU got on the board early, taking a 1-0 lead in the opening frame, as Tyson Cooper came into score following a throwing error by Florida Tech.
- The Panthers tied the game up in the bottom half of the inning.
- Nova Southeastern reclaimed the lead in the top of the second inning. Landon Lowe reached on a fielders’ choice, but another error by Florida Tech brought in both Jorge Braceras and Tyler Venegas.
- Henry Wallen plated both Justin Wachs and Landon Lowe with a two-run single, extending the Sharks lead to 5-1.
- FIT cut into the Nova Southeastern advantage with a solo home run.
- In the top of the fourth, Wallen drove in Lowe with a sacrifice fly, putting the score at 6-2.
- Vengas added another run for NSU, scoring on a wild pitch, in the top of the fifth.
- Bryan Loriga put the Sharks ahead 9-2 with a two-run single, driving in both Cooper and Wachs.
- The Sharks extended their lead to 10-2 over FIT as Wallen scored on a double play.
- NSU closed out the 10-3 victory over Florida Tech, finishing off an opening weekend SSC series win.
- Alex Valentin earned his first collegiate win, striking out 11, in five innings of work.
