Baseball – Sharks Drop Series Finale in Rain-Shortened Contest

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – The Nova Southeastern Sharks Baseball team dropped the Sunshine State Conference series finale to Rollins 4-0 on Sunday afternoon at the NSU Baseball Complex. The game was called in the bottom of the seventh inning due to lightning, but since the inning was not completed, it reverts back to the last inning that was finished.

How it Happened

Alex Valentin, the starting pitcher for the Sharks, set down the first nine Tars he faced and struck out the side in the top of the third inning. 
Rollins scored the first run of the game in the top of the fifth inning, scoring a two-out double and took a 1-0 lead. 
The Tars tacked on three runs in the top of the sixth inning, scoring a pair on a two-run bases loaded single. Following a pitching change, Frank Elissalt rolled a double play ball but Rollins scored their third run in the inning and took a 4-0 lead.
