SAINT PETERSBURG, Fla. – Lynn University’s baseball team split its two-game set with Eckerd College on Saturday, winning the second contest 6-1 to claim a 2-1 season-opening Sunshine State Conference (SSC) series victory.

STATS OF THE GAME:
Game One
· Misael Castillo (1-2) started and pitched 6.0 innings, allowing just two runs, one earned.
· Trevor Romeo had an RBI single in the eighth inning, scoring Byron Murray.
· Luis Beltran was 2-for-3.
Game Two
· Chris Mormile (2-0) threw the opening 5.2 innings and struck out four, giving up just one earned run.
· Samuel Beck tossed a scoreless final 3.1 innings to pick up his second three-inning save of the season.
· Murray was 2-for-4 with two runs scored, a walk and an RBI.
· Danny Berg also had two hits, scoring and knocking in one run.
· Liam O’Regan scored two runs and had one hit, one RBI and a walk.
BEYOND THE BOXSCORE:
· The Blue and White get their first SSC series-opening win since 2017 when they swept 16th-ranked Florida Southern at home.
